Woman stabbed in random attack at Upper West Side subway station

Terrifying video shows the moment before a stranger stabs a woman in the shoulder during a random attack in an Upper West Side subway station this week, cops said.

The 40-year-old victim was standing at a MetroCard kiosk at the 1, 2 and 3 station at 72nd Street and Broadway just before noon Thursday when her attacker exited through a turnstile, approached from behind and stabbed her in the right shoulder, cops said.

The surveillance footage released by cops late Thursday shows the suspect, wearing a blue shirt and bright yellow shorts, approaching and lunging with the knife.

No words were exchanged before the attack.

The attacker bolted from the station and remains at large, cops said.

The woman was rushed to Mount Sinai West for treatment.
