Who is Chris Mason?

Born Christopher Richard Mason on April 21, 1980 in Yorkshire, Chris is a 41-year-old political journalist.

He is known for hosting Radio 4's Any Questions? programme.

On April 13, 2022, it was announced that Chris had been appointed the BBC's new political editor,.

He replaces Laura Kuenssberg, who stepped down in early 2022.

In a statement, Chris said: "What a tremendous privilege to take on what, for me, is the most extraordinary job in British broadcasting and journalism.

"I clamber upon the shoulders of giants like Laura, Nick [Robinson] and Andrew [Marr] with a smattering of trepidation and a shedload of excitement and enthusiasm.

"To lead the best team of journalists in the business on the best news patch of the lot is something I'd never even dared dream of. I can't wait to get started."

He will take up his new post in May 2022, following the UK's local elections, and will continue to front Any Questions? until the summer 2022.

Who is Chris Mason's wife?

When it comes to his personal life, Chris is extremly private.

Although we don't know his wife's name, we do known that he is married.

Chris and his wife share two children and live in London

When did Chris Mason join the BBC?

Chris joined the BBC back in 2002.

He then became a political correspondent for the Beeb in 2012 and occasionally stands in as a presenter on BBC Breakfast.

Chris was one of the original hosts of Newscast (formerly known as Brexitcast) and previously worked on the BBC's regional desk at Westminster and as a political reporter for BBC Radio 5 Live.

He co-presented the network's Question Time Extra Time, a radio spin-off from the BBC One political panel show.

Chris also spent two years in Brussels as Europe correspondent.
