A toddler has died after being struck by a car while riding his scooter along a footpath in south-west Melbourne.
The 19-month-old boy was scooting along the footpath on McAlpine Court, Altona, when he was hit by a car pulling out of a driveway on Tuesday morning.
Police said in a statement that the car was moving slowly when it pulled out of the driveway.
The boy was taken to hospital but later died.
The driver, a 60-year-old man, stopped at the scene and is helping police with their inquiries.
Police will prepare a report for the Coroner.
