A STEAKHOUSE owner unleashed a brutal response to an "absolute spanner" of a customer who threatened to slap him over a 12-minute wait to be seated.
Hungry locals and tourists had happily flocked back to Gatehouse Steakhouse in picturesque Dolgellau in Snowdonia after the coronavirus lockdown – but one customer still managed to whinge.

And in a series of increasingly irate messages, the customer ranted: "who the f*** u talking to u cheeky arrogant b*****d I'll f***ing slap you if I ever see you. P***k."
The owner then replied: "I’m at the Gatehouse Steakhouse now should you wish to slap me…hands full making 5 kilos of coleslaw but can take a break."
The argument had started when the diner messaged the restaurant, complaining: "I was booked in your restaurant last night at 6.30 and we had to wait 12 minutes to be seated we were stud (sic) in a line outside do you think this is okay?
"I’m not f***ing happy about this."
The diner was then met with a polite message back from the steakhouse owner, who thanked them for their patience and pointed out they had been experiencing record numbers due to the Eat Out to Help Out scheme.
But the customer wouldn't let it go – while admitting the food was cooked "perfect".
They wrote: "I’m still f***ing p***ed off and that made us wait. We're on holiday and paying your staffs wages so don’t expect to be kept waiting. P*** take."
The string of messages then saw the steakhouse worker apologise again – with the irate customer lambasting him for being "cocky" and demanding a free meal or cash back while threatening to leave a bad review on TripAdvisor.
The patient hospitality worker then again explained the wait but was met with the message: "Fine f*** you, I'll just write a s*** review and f*** up your business."
They then wrote: "That doesn't happen in Wetherspoons" – then calling the worker a "cheeky c***".
The steakhouse has since shared the shocking exchange on social media.
They wrote: "Eat Out Help Out has been fantastic for the hospitality industry…and especially for us.
"It's helped us claw back so much lost revenue and there has been a real buzz about Dolgellau. I hope all of the other businesses have enjoyed it as much as we have.
"Whilst we have done everything to maximise business and make customers happy, there is always one absolute spanner. (WhatsApp message in photos).
"Before you read this…just think back to march 23rd when no matter how much money or influence you had, you couldn't dine out for months… Thanks to everybody…tourists and our amazing locals who have been amazing, patient and enjoyed what we offer."
It's not the first time that pub owners and drinkers have clashed.
An "obnoxious" group of drinkers were branded "entitled little toddlers" by a furious pub owner after they complained about staff online.
The woman, known only as Jo, left a scathing review after visiting The Cowshed at Hucknall for her sister-in-law's 50th birthday, but she was not prepared for the reply from the owner.
