Prince Harry and Meghan erect screens around Tyler Perry's LA mansion

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle erect screens around $18million LA mansion after California re-opened hiking trails and people could see onto the property owned by Tyler Perry

  • Workmen were seen putting up the screens on Saturday as hiking trails reopened in Los Angeles County
  • Images taken from the trail shows how hikers can see directly onto the grounds of the $18million mansion
  • The couple and baby Archie are staying in Tyler Perry’s Beverly Ridge, California home after racing to the US from Canada before borders closed
  • But as lockdown measures are relaxed, the family are stepping up privacy efforts in the high-security area

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have erected screens around the Beverly Hills area mansion where they are living, after it was discovered people could see directly onto the grounds.

Workmen were pictured outside the $18million home, owned by movie producer Tyler Perry, on Saturday – the first day Los Angeles County allowed some hiking trails to reopen as authorities relaxed lockdown measures.

After Parks & Recreation let Californians back onto popular hiking routes such as the Beverly Drive – Franklin Canyon Connector Trail on Saturday, locals taking dogs for walks and doing their daily exercise could see exactly where the couple are staying with their son Archie.

The area surrounding Beverly Ridge Estates features a steep hill which leads to the edge of the property and gives walkers an advantageous viewpoint.

But now it has become apparent people can see onto it too. The screens are seen on the left. The newly-opened hiking trail takes people directly up to the home where they are greeted by cameras. Right, is one view obstructed by trees from on top of the hill

But i the area elevated about 800ft, the family can also see what’s going on in the prestigious area as Perry’s property is surrounded by security cameras.

Harry and Meghan’s positioning in the wealthy neighborhood, nearby Beverly Hills and West Hollywood’s Sunset Strip, also allows them to look down at multi-million-dollar on the neighboring Beverly Park estate. They include Sylvester Stallone’s property with an outdoor pool, Rod Stewart’s French-style mansion with a soccer pitch and Mark Wahlberg’s circular turret.

With the weather getting warmer and coronavirus social distancing measures being relaxed, the trail could experience some heavy traffic this summer.

The family might also want to get outdoors to enjoy the lovely pool area furnished with loungers.

However it’s thought Harry and Meghan are only staying there while they search for a permanent place.

When they first arrived from Canada, California was in a very strict coronavirus lockdown and one of the first states to do so

But social distancing measures are starting to relax in California and now the screens are giving them more privacy

DailyMail.com learned that Tyler Perry’s $150 million jet left its base outside Atlanta at 1.35am on Saturday, March 14 on its way to pick up Harry, Meghan and one-year-old baby Archie. Pictured: Perry pictured on a private plane

It’s believed the couple were connected with Tyler via Oprah Winfrey.

The Duke and Duchess are currently working on a documentary series with Oprah, while Perry has partnered with Oprah’s OWN television channel in the past.

A source told DailyMail.com: ‘Meghan and Harry have been extremely cautious to keep their base in LA under wraps.

‘Their team helped them choose the location for their transition to Los Angeles wisely.

‘Beverly Ridge has its own guarded gate and Tyler’s property has a gate of its own which is watched by their security team.

Beverly Ridge is an excellent place to keep out of view. The neighbors are mostly old money and mega rich business types rather than show business gossips.

‘It goes without saying that the location is stunning — just one of the most beautiful and desirable areas in LA.’

It is also home to socialite Alexis Carson, the widow of popular talk show host Johnny Carson.

Top Hollywood real estate agent Rochelle Maize of the Nourmand & Associates agency told DailyMail.com: ‘Beverly Ridge Estates has just 14 homes but is very prestigious and chic.

‘There are not many rentals on offer there because of the limited number of properties.

‘Leases start at around $20,000 and can go up to $40,000 a month. It costs around $16 million to buy a property there.’

Both the Sussexes and Perry consider Oprah their Hollywood mentor. Oprah is even godson to Perry’s five-year-old son Aman, and was seen at the house Meghan and Harry are now staying at for his Christening party back in 2015 (pictured)
