NYPD officer fatally shoots naked suspect during gunfight in Harlem: sources

A police officer fatally shot a suspect, who was armed and naked, during a gunfight early Wednesday morning inside a Harlem apartment building, sources said.

The officer was also struck by gunfire in the building at Frederick Douglass Boulevard and West 148th Street at about 2 a.m., according to police.

The suspect, who is believed to be the building’s superintendent, was naked at the time of the shooting, law enforcement sources said.

The melee began when the suspect began to break the glass in a door of the apartment building, the sources said.

A woman who lives in the building told The Post that she heard commotion in the hallway before about 10 shots were fired.
