Tough-talking true-crime TV personality Nancy Grace and her family have tested positive for COVID-19 — stunning the former prosecutor, who said she thought she’d “done everything right” to stay safe, according to a report Friday.
The 61-year-old host of “Injustice With Nancy Grace” said she, her husband and teenage twins contracted the virus — as did her 81-year-old mother, who was hospitalized, according to the Daily Mail.
“COVID is no joke — we thought we had done everything right,” she told the outlet. “Please keep wearing masks, social distancing and stay safe – no family should go through this.”
Grace tested positive Wednesday after coming down with a cough and flu-like symptoms, she said. Her 13-year-old twins, John David and Lucy Elizabeth, had sore throats, and her husband, David Linch, suffered a headache.
Her mom, Elizabeth — who lives with Grace in Atlanta. — was rushed to an emergency room after suffering from lethargia, loss of appetite and coughing.
Grace’s family is now in quarantine as her mother recovers in the hospital, she said.
“David, the twins and I will continue to isolate at home while we recover, and we look forward to Mom coming home as soon as we are all better,” she said. “We’re praying for my mom, that she returns home as soon as she can.
Grace added, “We’d like to thank the tremendous doctors and nurses who are taking such wonderful care of her.”
