Ashleigh Quinton was last seen leaving her home in Cleethorpes at 7.50am.
Humberside Police shared an appeal for the teen, saying she was white, 4ft 4inches tall and with dark brown hair.
She was wearing her school uniform and a grey fleece jacket with stripes.
But soon after, police confirmed the young girl had been found safe.
A spokesperson said: "Thank you to everyone who got in touch with information about 12-yr-old Ashleigh Quinton who was reported missing in Grimsby today.
"We've found her safe and well.
"As always, your help is much appreciated! :-)"
