THE alleged mastermind of a robbery that led to the murder of rookie PC Sharon Beshenivsky is set to face an extradition hearing on Monday.
Piran Ditta Khan, 71, was arrested in Pakistan in January after 14 years on the run.
He is expected to fight extradition to Britain at the hearing in Islamabad.
Khan fled the UK after mum-of-five Sharon, 38, was shot dead by robbers during a raid on a travel agent in Bradford, West Yorks, in 2005.
Six men were jailed over her murder.
Det Supt Mark Swift said: “We are working to ensure his extradition is as quick as possible.”
Sharon’s husband Paul, who has remarried, said in January: “It will give me a bit of closure."
However he also said the upcoming hearing will cause him and his family to re-live the pain all over again.
He said: “It will all be coming to light again. Obviously it’s not very nice, you try to get on with your life.
“It doesn’t give you total closure, like now it just goes through your mind and the kids are going to be suffering.
"You’re never going to forget.”
