A man was found dead and hanging from a lamppost along the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway during Monday morning’s rush-hour, police said.
Authorities were alerted to the gruesome scene near Exit 42 by Northern Boulevard in Woodside, Queens via a 911 caller at 8 a.m., according to cops.
There, police discovered the 37-year-old man hanging from the lamppost on the eastbound side of the highway, officials said.
Members from the NYPD’s elite Emergency Services Unit removed the man’s body and he was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:23 a.m., cops said.
Police say that the man appears to have committed suicide but the matter is still under investigation.
His identity was not immediately released.
