A Chinese father has allegedly been caught on camera hanging his young son over the edge of a cliff in a bid to get a perfect snap for their trip.
Footage reportedly captures the shocking moment the youngster helplessly looking around while being dangled by the parent over the steep slope. Another man is seen taking the photos from behind.
The trending video angered tens of thousands of Chinese web users who slammed the father as ‘undeserving of being a parent.’
The video is said to have been filmed in a local scenic spot in Beijing, Hongjing Road, a 19-kilometre (12-mile) winding road that is known for its beautiful scenery and sharp bends.
Media reports did not specify the height of the slope, but the twisting road is said to snake around the mountain seven times and reach a height of 905 metres (2,969 feet) above sea level.
The clip circulating online sees the child hanging loosely over the cliff edge while an onlooker can be heard crying: ‘Look, look! The kid’s hands are shaking!’
Other tourists who appear to be travelling with the father and son, seem unfazed about the dangerous act as they are seen casually chatting on the road.
Tens of thousands of web users have been left horrified by the video, criticising the parent’s thoughtless behaviour.
One commenter wrote: ‘He doesn’t deserve to be a father! I feel so sorry for the child to have parents like this.’
Another one replied: ‘Oh my god, taking your child’s life as a joke just for some photos! A bunch of stupid and thoughtless idiots!’
