Set to star on the upcoming series of Strictly Come Dancing, Zara McDermott has revealed that she has already began rehearsals and can't wait to get stuck in even more.
The reality star and presenter, 26, caught up with OK! on the red carpet at the National Television Awards, where she looked sensational in a black and sequinned silver number.
Attending the bash after going through her first two days of training for Strictly, the former Love Island star admitted that they have made her realise how tough it may be. She explained: " Rehearsals are going amazing, we’ve only just done the first two days but they’ve been incredible, the best two days ever.
"We’ve been getting a little taster of what is to come, I’m starting to see the technique that is required and thinking ‘oh god this will be hard'."
When probed if she was feeling any nerves for the show, which will air weekly and see her partnered with a professional dancer, Zara appeared confident.
"I’m not scared, I’m just grateful for the opportunity," she said. Further explaining: “I’m a massive fan, it’s a dream come true. I watch it every single year and have done since I was around seven. I’m a massive fan of the dances and the pros, so when I met them I was like ‘oh my god I’m a big fan’."
Zara is the first ever former Love Islander to be a contestant on the BBC show, after her 2018 stint on the reality dating series catapulted her to fame and saw her leave the villa with her then-boyfriend Adam Collard.
But admitting she wasn't on the show for long, the star doesn't really attribute her success to it. "I was only on Love island for ten or 11 days so for me it’s a very small part of my journey, but I am very grateful”
She appears to be focusing on her health ahead of Strictly too, showing off her flexibility in a recent video shared to Instagram, where she boasts 1.7M followers.
In one clip, she can be seen wearing a lilac sports bra and bright pink leggings as impressively does the splits.
Captioning the video, Zara said: “Mobility & cardio are my current priorities when it comes to my fitness, trying to prep my body as best I can for [dancing woman emoji] 2 weeks and I will have my splits back properly."
