You can now binge 60 iconic Coronation Street episodes ahead of the anniversary

It’s music to the ears of every Coronation Street fan – there are now 60 classic episodes of the iconic show on Britbox to binge to your heart’s content from the best weddings and feuds to the most notable deaths and biggest moments over the last six decades.

The soap is set to celebrate 60 years on our screens this December and a lot has happened since we first saw Ken Barlow (William Roache) pop up in 1960.

A spokesperson for ITV told Metro.co.uk: ‘Programming includes a selection of dramas and episodes celebrating Britain’s favourite and longest-running
soap.

‘This includes The Road to Coronation Street (a drama documenting the journey of Coronation Street from conception to its first transmission in December 1960), Against The Odds: The Pat Phoenix Story (a drama following Pat Phoenix’s ill-fated affair with fellow actor Tony Booth in the 1950s) and Coronation Street: 60 Years in 60 Episodes (60 handpicked episodes which showcase the very best Corrie moments).’

You can find them all now on Britbox.

The episodes include the epic showdown of Ena Sharples and Elsie Tanner in 1961, the death of Ernie Bishop and Audrey Roberts’ first appearance.

Into the later eras, we see Deirdre and Ken’s first wedding, Alan Bradley’s death, Bet and Rita’s showdown in the Kabin and Deirdre’s verdict.

Moving into the 2000s, we have Audrey sussing out killer Richard, Maya’s explosive revenge, Blanche hijacking an AA meeting, the 50th anniversary tram crash, Aidan Connor’s heartbreaking suicide and the uplifting 10,000th episode where a selection of residents got trollied on a bus trip.
