Jimmy Hurdstrom (played by Jefferson White) appalled Yellowstone fans at the end of season three by making the reckless decision to get back on a horse after sustaining serious injuries in the rodeo. In a recent interview, the Paramount series star opened up about whether his actions could land Jimmy in hot water with John Dutton (Kevin Costner) next season.
Ranch owner John Dutton and Jimmy Hurdstrom could come to blows in the upcoming fourth instalment of popular Western drama, Yellowstone.
The pair were at odds in the previous season after Jimmy’s dangerous new rodeo career landed him in hospital with extensive injuries.
His wealthy employer reluctantly footed the bill for his hospital fees, but warned Jimmy he won’t be paying out if the same thing happens again.
As the Dutton family became victims of a horrendous series of calculated attacks in last year’s brutal season finale, Jimmy’s fate was also left ambiguous.
Despite assuring John he wouldn’t be joining the barrel racers for another round in the rodeo, a foreboding scene in which the naive ranch hand struggled to mount a horse could have dire implications for season four.
If Jimmy decides to go against John’s wishes he could be invoking the full wrath of the ruthless and uncompromising land tycoon.
In a recent interview with Cheat Sheet, Jefferson White remained quiet about whether or not Jimmy will be surviving into the next season.
However, he also teased a furious confrontation could be on the horizon if John catches wind of Jimmy’s return to horse riding.
White explained: “The only ally he’s ever really had, the only people that have ever really supported him, is the Yellowstone.”
A fresh-faced newcomer in the first season, Jimmy eventually wins the trust of his fellow ranch hands and their intimidating leader, Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser).
Jimmy’s relationship with barrel racer Mia (Eden Brolin) sparked tension in the bunkhouse, and he could make enemies out of his fellow ranchers if they find out he’s returned to the rodeo.
The Yellowstone star continued: “And to break his word with John Dutton, he’s seen the consequences of what it means to break your word to John Dutton.”

“So I think that’s a really scary new reality to be living in, or would theoretically be living in.”
Several characters’ fates were left up in the air following the devastating events of Yellowstone’s third season finale.
Thankfully, both John Dutton and Jimmy Hurdstrom are expected to return, at least for the first episodes of the next instalment.
White confirmed as much himself when he revealed his thoughts on the coming season, which recently wrapped filming.
He said: “It’s incredible. I think season four is the best season yet.
“We shot it all in Montana, and that really has a transformative effect. I really think it’s an incredible season.”
Still, Jimmy needs to start watching his back if he ignores the warning signs and has another crack at the death-defying competition.
Yellowstone season 2 is available to download now and on DVD and Blu-ray March 15 in the UK.
