COUNTDOWN co-host Rachel Riley is heading off on maternity leave after announcing she was expecting her second child back in April.
But when is the new baby due – and who will replace Rachel on Countdown? Here's everything we know…
When is Rachel Riley's baby due?
Rachel Riley's baby is due to arrive sometime in October 2021 – but she hasn't revealed her exact due date.
She announced the happy news in April 2021 on Instagram, posting a "special teatime teaser" that showed her standing in front of the iconic Countdown board.
Behind her, there were a number of letters that – with a little bit of rearranging – spelled out "fertility".
In the caption, the star said: "Riley had this to thank for the reason her clothes no longer fit her… and it'll only get worse until autumn!"
"Happy, happy days for our little family @pashaovalev and future big sister Mave".
How many children does Rachel Riley have?
The new arrival will be her second child with ex-Strictly Come Dancing professional Pasha Kovalev.
The pair married in a secret Las Vegas ceremony in May 2019 and welcomed their first baby, a daughter named Maven, just over six months later in December 2019.
Rachel and Pasha first met when they were partnered up on the 2013 series of Strictly Come Dancing.
Who will replace her on Countdown?
Unfortunately for expectant fans, it's not yet known who – if anyone – will replace Rachel on Countdown.
Rachel has been a staple of the show ever since she replaced Carol Vorderman in 2009 at the age of just 22.
It was her first ever television gig – and she only applied for the role after her mother encouraged her to do so.
Rachel reportedly had to beat out more than 1,000 other candidates for the role.
Rachel also appears in the same role on the show's spin-off, 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, which launched in 2012.
