Vikings season six, part two is the final instalment of the saga and viewers are sad to see it come to an end. In the final episodes, fans will learn whether Ivar the Boneless (played by Alex Høgh Andersen) will continue to fight against his own family. Some believe he will turn to the Christian faith before the season is out, and Express.co.uk has investigated.
Will Ivar betray the gods in part B?
Vikings is due to come to an end with the second half of season six, and the final episodes will follow the aftermath of the Rus battle.
In the first half of the series, fans saw Ivar join Prince Oleg (Danila Kozlovsky) in an invasion on Scandinavia.
Ivar ended up stabbing his brother Bjorn Ironside (Alexander Ludwig), but viewers have since learned how the warrior survived the blow.
The remaining episodes will explain what happens to both sides and who will prevail, as Oleg had been on a mission to cleanse Scandinavia of its beliefs.
The show’s creator Michael Hirst has already explained how Ivar will redeem himself by the end of the season, but it is yet to transpire how he will do it.
Some have pointed out how he had initially wanted to kill all Christians, but he has now joined an army with a plan to destroy his own gods.
One fan said on Reddit: “Ivar had no choice. It was either work with Oleg or be killed. Ivar wants glory, he’ll use any opportunity for that.
“He’s even secretly working against Oleg and we see how worried and sorrowful Ivar looks when Oleg announces his goal of eliminating paganism as well as having to face Bjorn in such a way.”
Ivar is known to have put his best interests at heart throughout the series, and it has not stopped him from hurting those closest to him.
There is a chance he may sacrifice his own religion in order to gain power, but many fans believe he will turn on Oleg in the final hour.
Many fans believe Ivar has finally opened his eyes to the damage Oleg plans to cause, and they are hoping he may be able to put a stop to it before it is too late.
However, in a teaser for the final instalment, Gunnhild (Ragga Ragnars) is heard saying the golden age of the Vikings is over.
With this in mind, there is a chance Oleg is victorious and Ivar, as well as the rest of the Vikings, will be forced to succumb to his Christian beliefs.
Some fans think Ivar will reach his demise before the end of the seasons, with many believing his own brother Hvitserk (Marco Ilsø) will be the one to kill him.
Hvitserk is yet to avenge the death of his girlfriend Thora (Eve Connolly), who was murdered by Ivar’s men after she refused to follow him.
One fan said on Reddit: “I think Hvitserk is still willing to kill Ivar. I think we’ll see Ivar overthrowing Oleg at some point, then being killed by Hvitserk.
“This show has never been historically accurate, however, they kinda tried. They mixed some events up together with the same characters, like attack on Lindisfarne, siege of Paris or attack on north England. [Sic]”

Vikings season 6 part 2: Will Amma come back in part B? [INSIGHT]
This is not the first time there has been talk of Christianity prevailing over paganism during the final episodes.
There will definitely be some huge discoveries in the second half of season six, as Ubbe (Jordan Patrick Smith) is likely to find a new community.
Fans are also hoping to see Floki (Gustaf Skarsgård) return, and they believe he may have turned to Christianity following his near-death experience.
He had been trapped in a cave containing a crucifix, and he came to the realisation his own gods may have abandoned him.
Floki could have been given a second chance at life in order to find out more about Christianity, as an act of penance for killing the Christian monk, Athelstan (George Blagden).
In another clip ahead of the final episodes, Prince Oleg is seen taking part in a Christian ritual, with Ivar watching on.
From the clip it seems Oleg and his army were somewhat victorious, as the influence of Christianity is seen for the first time.
Fans cannot wait to see what happens to Ivar in the final 10 episodes, with some hoping he is killed off as an act of justice for those he has hurt.
Others would like to watch him realise the error of his ways, and attempt to correct all the mistakes he has made, perhaps even sacrificing himself for his family.
Star Andersen shared some backstage photos of himself as Ivar on Instagram, saying: “While we’re waiting for the last season of Vikings to finally air(I have zero clue when that’s gonna happen(!)), here’s a small collection of photos to entertain you.”
The photos included himself as Ivar posing next to a Gloucestershire pig, and some of the talented crew transforming him into a Viking warrior.
