Trinny Woodall threatened to quit This Morning after wardrobe disagreement

Trinny Woodall is known for bringing her trademark flair to This Morning ’s fashion segments each week, but she once came close to throwing in the towel.

Martin Frizzell has long been the lead editor for the show, working alongside the likes of Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby to coordinate an entertaining blend of lifestyle and human interest stories each day.

However, Trinny, 56, revealed she once clashed with Martin behind-the-scenes, and considered leaving the show altogether.

The two apparently disagreed over whether Trinny should be allowed to wear an item from her own fashion brand on the show.

When Martin forbid her from wearing one of her rings – which was designed as part of her brand Trinny London – Trinny refused to do the show without it.

Martin pointed out the wearing of the ring could be interpreted as advertising, asking Trinny to remove it while presenting the fashion segment.

Recalling the run-in on The Emma Guns Show podcast last month, Trinny said: "I always wear this ring cause I always wear big rings.

“After a while I remember the editor said: 'Trinny you can't wear that ring!' I was like 'Why not?'

'"He goes: 'Well because it's an ad for your brand.' I go: 'Darling it's the ring or me.”

She continued: “I’m very happy to give up fashion on This Morning, but this is my ring, it's me.

“I always wear big rings, people can make of it what they will.'"

Trinny became a household name in the noughties when she presented a quirky makeover show with fellow fashion advisor Susannah Constantine.

Their BBC television series What Not to Wear ran for five seasons and the duo released a number of books together, advising the nation on the best ways to dress for every occasion.

They later joined ITV for their show Trinny & Susannah Undress… which saw the style gurus give unhappy couples a makeover in order to improve their self-confidence.
