How well do you remember the characters on Sex and the City? Would you recognize the actors who played them if you spotted them on the street these days? Before you answer yes or no, you should probably consider the fact that it would likely depend on who you bump into.
While the four main ladies who appeared on the show — Cynthia Nixon, Kristin Davis, Kim Cattrall, and, of course, Sarah Jessica Parker — pretty much look the same as they did while starring on the hit HBO series (if, understandably, a little older), at least two of the men who played their love interests have undergone major transformations since their days on the show. In fact, you might think they’re downright unrecognizable.
Just check out Chris Noth (who fans know as Mr. Big ) while in isolation during the coronavirus pandemic. In April 2020, he shaved his head bald and looked like a different man. Seriously, it was shocking! And he’s not alone. Scroll down to find out how different Jason Lewis (a.k.a. Smith Jerrod) is looking these days.
Jason Lewis ditched his long hair and grew a 'thick brown mustache'
Jason Lewis played an attractive (initially aspiring, then successful) actor who became romantically involved with Kim Cattrall’s character, Samantha Jones, on Sex and the City. The show originally ran from 1998 until 2004 with follow-up movies hitting theaters in 2008 and 2010. That means there’s been plenty of time for the actor to alter his appearance in the years since showing up as Smith Jerrod.
Although Lewis has continued to work in the industry after his time on SATC and nabbed various roles on shows like Brothers & Sisters and How I Met Your Mother, the Daily Mail took notice of the ways in which the actor look different during an appearance on Channel Seven’s The Morning Show in late June 2020.
“Gone were the iconic shaggy blond locks and clean-cut look that he once sported on the beloved HBO show,” the Daily Mail explained. “Instead, Jason displayed a rugged beard and a head of slicked-back dark hair.” Beyond that, the outlet noted that “[p]erhaps the most noticeable change was his thick brown mustache.” Does anyone else get an Ewan McGregor vibe?
This is also quite a change from the super long hair and cardigan-wearing style that he was sporting during an interview with KTLA 5’s Morning News Show in 2017. Although, he did already have the mustache, so maybe the facial hair is here to stay?
