THIS Morning fans were all saying the same thing as Steve Jones made a surprise appearance hosting alongside Josie Gibson.

Steve, 46, joined Josie, 38, on Wednesday's episode of This Morning and viewers were very impressed.

Insisting the Welsh presenter should be a regular host, one person tweeted: "Loving Steve Jones with Josie today."

Another said: "Steve Jones is a safe pair of hands, competition for Dermot."

And a third added: "I'd forgotten what a great TV presenter Steve Jones is."

Many also demanded for Steve to host with This Morning regular Craig Doyle.

Someone said: "Can we have Steve Jones and Craig Doyle hosting together please?"

And another wrote: "We had Josie & Alison for days on end, then Rochelle & Josie…. Please now can we have Steve Jones & Craig Doyle?"

Steve is the latest guest host to appear on This Morning following Phillip Schofield's shock axing in May.

He shot to fame as a host on Channel 4's T4 between 2003 and 2010. Steve also presented the first series of The X Factor USA.

He also became well-known for his romantic links with a series of glamorous stars, including Pamela Anderson and Angelina Jolie.

He is married to US-born food writer Phylicia Jackson

ITV bosses were said to be "thrilled" that Steve said yes to the job and are hoping he'll eventually co-host with This Morning anchor Holly Willoughby.

A source told MailOnline: "The hope is that those watching at home will love Steve, he's a very experienced broadcaster but also very cheeky.

"There is no permanent replacement for Phil, Holly will be presenting with Alison, Josie, Dermot and Craig, and now probably Steve."
