The Real Reason Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's Baby Will Be Raised Differently Than William and Kate Middleton's Children

As Meghan Markle’s due date draws near, fans have questions about what she and Prince Harry will be like as parents and how they will choose to raise their baby. While that remains to be seen we do know that their child will be brought up much differently than Prince William and Kate Middleton’s children.

Here are some ways the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will raise their baby that differs from how the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have raised their kids. Plus, the biggest reason why Baby Sussex’s upbringing will be nothing like their royal cousins.

Won’t be raised behind palace walls

By now, most people know that Prince Harry and Markle’s son or daughter will not be growing up with the Cambridge children at Kensington Palace in London.

The couple has decided to move away from the city and bring their child up at Frogmore Cottage on the Windsor Estate.

Won’t be seen in public as much

Prince William and Middleton’s oldest children have been photographed in public several times, however, the duke and duchess’ youngest son, Louis, has been seen far less. It’s believed that Markle and Harry want the latter for their child as well.

“While Meghan and Harry no doubt understand there will be intense public interest in their son or daughter they won’t parade him or her out as a royal trophy and will instead keep their public appearances to an absolute minimum,” said OK! Magazine’s royal editor Laura Hills.

Won’t have a royal title

The former actress and her husband also decided that they do not want their little one to have a regal title like the Cambridge children all have.

“At the moment, Harry and Meghan are saying that they don’t want a title for their baby,” ABC Royals Contributor Imogen Lloyd Webber explained in the documentary titled When Kate Met Met William: A Tale Of Two Lives. “As a result, this baby is unlikely to ever have his or her royal highness prince or princess title and they will be expected to work for a living.”

Won’t have as many expectations

The biggest reason why their baby’s life will be so much different is because of the child’s place in the line of succession to the throne.

Unlike Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis who fall in line only behind their father and grandfather, it’s safe to assume that Markle and Harry’s son or daughter won’t ever be king or queen. That said, their child won’t have anywhere near the same amount of expectations placed on them as the Cambridges.

“While their child will always be a senior member of the royal family and expected to attend big family events and represent them when required, they will have the freedom to go on to have a career of their own if they wish, just like Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice have done,” Hills explained.

She added, “With so much distance from the throne they’ll be allowed to break away from some of the stricter royal conventions and have more freedom to decide which direction their life takes than their cousins.”
