The Masked Singer: ITV tease the return of hit show
The Masked Singer is back for season two and as of yet, no former member of boyband One Direction has featured on the show. As the new episodes air on ITV, 12 new characters will be battling it out to try and take the crown from reigning champion, Queen Bee. With Badger one of the elaborate costumes being used to conceal the identity of the celebrity hidden inside, it could well be one of the now soloists of the group could be taking part in the show.
A new feature to the second season is a spin-off show has been curated and will be hosted by Will Njobvu, 26, on the ITV Hub.
The presenter will speak with the contestants once their identities have been revealed and they are processing their journey behind-the-scenes.
Speaking with Express.co.uk and other publications about his role on the programme, Will said: “I’ve seen it all. Backstage, it is all kicking off.”
Host of the main event Joel Dommett, 35, then addressed how his new co-star thought a member of the infamous boyband was taking part.
Discussing their backstage antics, the latter explained: “Me and Will did a thing every night where we would reveal who we thought it was on the first episode compared to who it really was.”

“Talking about bad guesses, Will is by far the worst guesser ever. At one point, we had the gold envelope and Will [thought one of the characters] was One Direction,” the host continued.
“The whole of One Direction,” Joel reiterated before Will added: “We still don’t know. Maybe a member of One Direction is on the show.”
Amongst all the characters taking part, it seems Badger is the most rock and roll of them all, meaning the celebrity hidden inside could have had a life touring the world.
By the end of their time together, One Direction had acquired a more eclectic sound, meaning they were writing and performing songs from all different genres.
Maybe a member of One Direction is on the show
One member of the band who seemed to lean more towards a rock and roll sound was former X Factor judge, Louis Tomlinson, 28.
The singer-songwriter has now ventured into curating his own solo material and continues to travel the globe performing his music.
With Will suggesting a member of the boyband could be competing and with the father-of-one having to cancel his world tour earlier this year as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, could he be unmasked as the Badger?
As of yet, there have been no other predictions from fans online as to who could be hidden inside the costume of the woodland creature.

Following the reveal of which quirky characters would be taking part, each one was given a clue to staple with their picture.
For the Badger costume, the puzzle reads: “Steps out of the set but will this badger stand out from the crowd?”
Could it be Louis is the celebrity posing as the woodland creature or will it be someone completely different?
The rock and roll performer will be featuring in the first episode of the new season but viewers will have to wait and see if their identity is unmasked.
Speaking about the protocols in place to keep the secrecy, host Joel explained: “There are six people in the production staff who know and out of a production of about 250 people, the level of secrecy is [intense].
“The way the studio is done, you have all of us in one half of the studio and then you have the studio where it’s recorded and the other side of the studio is the dressing rooms for all the different characters.
“We’re all kept really separate,” he added, declaring neither he nor the judges knew who was competing before filming the episodes.
The Masked Singer returns tonight at 7pm on ITV.
