Former Strictly Come Dancing pro, James Jordan, believes Ashley Roberts is the rightful winner of the show, but says she’s been ‘cheated’ out of victory after the show allowed her to be ‘picked on’.
Former Pussycat Doll Ashley has come under fire for having a dance background thanks to her time with the girlband.
But ahead of tonight’s grand final, James has hit back, insisting she’s only as experienced as co-star and former Steps member, Faye Tozer.
Predicting that the bookies favourite, Stacey Dooley, will win, he told The Su n, "But I think Ashley should win. She is the best dancer. She’s had so much stick and Strictly allowed that to happen.
"I feel so sorry for Ashley. She’s had a really hard time. She’s trying hard if not harder than everyone is. I’m a professional dancer and what she’s doing is outstanding – regardless of whether she’s trained or not. She has been in the dance-off three times."
He speculated that she must ‘feel horrible’ going into the final knowing she’s got ‘no chance’ of lifting the Glitterball Trophy.
Praising her for putting in ‘so much effort’, he described the situation as being ‘really sad’.
"I really feel for her. She’s put so much effort in. She’s not going to win, she can’t win… Whoever wins, they can’t take that away from her. There’s no point in watching the final! We know who’s won already," he continued.
A spokesperson from Strictly declined to comment when approached by Mirror Online.
* The Strictly Come Dancing final starts tonight at 6.30pm on BBC1
