According to recent reports, Strictly Come Dancing executives have already decided Coronation Street star Katie McGlynn and her former flame Giovanni Pernice will not be paired up.
The soap star, 28, and the professional dancer 30, were speculated to be romantically linked five years ago – however the pair didn't actually ever confirm if rumours were true.
In spite of the hype about the duo already, BBC bosses have already decided they will not be matched-up on this years series.
It has been claimed that they are trying to avoid "curse rumours" early on as Giovanni recently went public with Love Island star Maura Higgins.
The Sun claims show organisers are therefore keen not to "stoke flames" between the pair, as the fans are aware of the infamous 'curse' that has plagued the show for years.
A source revealed to the publication: "There's always speculation about the pairings and how they will impact on relationships.
"The bosses do not want to stoke flames."
Daily Star has contacted Strictly representatives for comment.
Corrie star Katie is thought to be single after parting ways from boyfriend Benji Roberts back in 2019.
In 2017, the ITV star was believed to be linked to Giovanni after they were spotted on a night out together.
It was later reported that the pair had enjoyed "dinner and the cinema" together but Katie remained instant that they were not an item.
More recently, Giovanni went public with Ann Summers model and TV star Maura Higgins.
It seems things are becoming quite serious for the loved-up couple, with Giovanni introducing her to the cast of the Him And Me Show that he is starring in alongside new judge, Anton Du Beke.
An insider told the Daily Mail: "Gio and Maura are very much a couple.
"Everyone know he's played the field in the past but he is serious about Maura.
"He's smitten with her, they've become close really quickly and are spending a lot of time together in Blackpool."
