Stacey Solomon is on a mission to 'cheer up' Joe Swash after missing his nan's funeral

STACEY Solomon says she is on a mission to cheer boyfriend Joe Swash up after he couldn't attend his nan's funeral.

The Dancing On Ice star, 37, described his beloved Nanny Fran's death as "excruciating and cruel" on Instagram yesterday as he told fans he was forced to miss the funeral.

In a bid to cheer up her man, Stacey pretended to walk down the stairs behind her kitchen counter.

She then waved her arms around as though she was being "attacked by a shark".

It looked like it did the trick, as the camera panned to Joe and baby Rex laughing together.

It was much needed comic relief for poor Joe, who has had a tough few days, after losing his beloved nan.

Earlier today Stacey also thanked followers for the kind words they sent to Joe saying that they "really made a difference" to him.

Sharing a video of her and their baby Rex, she wrote: "Good Morning. Laying here so blown away by all your kind messages. You honestly have no idea what they mean and how much they make a difference."

Joe told fans about his nan's passing yesterday with a photo of his smiling grandma with Rex as a newborn.

He wrote: "Goodnight Nanny Fran. Sleep well. I miss you so much already. I’m heartbroken.

"I wish I could have spent more time with you. I wish I could have seen you more before you left us…

"I wish I could have said goodbye. But I know you know how much we all love you and you’ll be watching down on us, looking after us forever more."

He continued: "Thinking of all of those who have lost loved ones during this awful situation. Thinking of all of the people who weren’t able to be by their loved ones side. Those who won’t be able to say goodbye at their funerals…

"It’s excruciating. And cruel. Sending so much love your way."

Stacey took to Instagram yesterday morning to share a smiling photo of Rex and announce she was putting her phone down.

She wrote: "I'm going to be off my stories today. For anyone who's having an awful day. Or feeling alone…

"I really hope this smile brings you a moment of happiness.

"Even on the saddest days, Pickle you give us so many moments when we forget all that's happening and only know the joy you bring us…"

It's not the first time in recent weeks that Stacey has stepped back from Instagram.

Earlier this month she moved to reassure fans everything was OK in her relationship with Joe Swash after she announced a social break for "personal reasons".
