Max Branning (Jake Wood) was left heartbroken once more in EastEnders after Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) rejected his offer to fly to New Zealand to start a new life together.
In the past Max has had constant fails when it comes to relationships, and Linda was no different. Getting his hopes up once more that he had finally found the one, Max’s high hopes came crashing down when Linda announced she can’t leave Mick (Danny Dyer).
Since then, Max has wandered around the Square like a lovesick teenage boy, desperate to know why Linda turned her back on him so quickly.
Soon, he makes a discovery about Linda that could change everything.
Max is still struggling with things not working out for him and clearly misses his late daughter Abi.
Jack (Scott Maslen) tells Rainie (Tanya Franks) that Max hasn’t been himself recently and so Rainie confronts Max about his problems – she will keep Abi for another night, convincing Max he isn’t fit to look after her.
Max is left to find comfort in a bottle of whiskey and he later stumbles onto the Square drunk.
Jack brings Max inside and Max opens up to him about Linda.
Max then discovers some information about Linda, but with his exit looming, how will learning this information impact the time he has left in Albert Square?
