Sorry for the Spoilers, But You Have to Read About 'Bachelorette' Contestant Tyler G.'s Shady Past

[This post contains spoilers for the second and third episodes of season 15 of The Bachelorette.]

If you’ve watched the most recent episode of The Bachelorette and are into guys that look like Prince Eric, you’re probably rooting for Tyler G. right now. If it’s still too early in the season for you to nail down first names (it’s tricky, no judgement), he’s the guy that had the one-on-one with Hannah. He seems like a decent fav to have right now…which is why I’m sorry to break this news to you. He has a potentially shady past, and ABC was clearly not happy about it. Only continue reading if you’re down for a little spoiler action!

According to Reality Steve, the infamous Bachelor Nation spoiler, Tyler G. is going home next week. But not because Hannah didn’t give him a rose. Apparently, the producers came and “removed Tyler G. from the show,” while the rest of the contestants were out on a group date with Hannah.

“They had been given some information about his past relationships and told him it wouldn’t be good for him to remain on the show and he needed to leave immediately,” writes Steve. Uh, excuse me?!

They must have had a solid reason, right? Steve says he won’t spill all of the tea, but that it’s easy to find if you go looking. So, I went looking.

First, I crept on Tyler’s Instagram, where I noticed that a few people I know follow him. This makes sense because he’s literally on television, but one of the mutuals is a friend of mine who attended Trinity College, just like Tyler. I reached out to see if she actually knows Tyler, or if she’s just a dedicated member of Bachelor Nation, and she said “We’ve made out multiple times. I know some dirt.”

TBH, the dirt wasn’t as juicy as I was expecting but she did say, “Once when we made out, he said I have to ‘decide what I want my reputation to be like at school.'” When I asked what she thought that meant, she said, “I guess…not to sleep around? Isn’t that so weird?”

The information that the producers learned was most likely from Reddit. A user who was posting from a throwaway account shared that her two best friends went to high school with Tyler. They consider him an “extreme misogynist.” Uh, what?

“The story that most caught my attention involves his treatment of an ex,” the anonymous user continued. “Apparently he dated a really sweet girl, but they would get in public screaming matches often. The relationship ended horrifically. While in Europe, he SPIT ON HER and left.”

🌹What are you doing at 8/7c tonight?! Tune into ABC for the @bacheloretteabc to see me suck at television. Or don’t, whatever works. But @alabamahannah will be there and she’s worth watching for sure.🌹#bachelornation #bachelorette

Most of the responses on the thread agreed that Tyler’s past seemed shady enough for him to be a threat to our girl, Alabama Hannah. Another user shared that they sent the thread to Ashley Spivey, a Bachelor alum who has exposed Bach dudes in the past. During Becca Kufrin’s season, Ashley alerted the producers of contestant Garrett Yrigoyen’s disturbing (read: transphobic, misogynistic, and racist) social media presence. A few weeks later, Ashley did some investigating to prove that another contestant, Lincoln Adim, was convicted of indecent assault and battery.

Apparently, Ashley responded to the poster’s DM, promising to share the details with ABC as soon as possible. Someone get these women into the FBI!

Hopefully Hannah can catch a break this season. We’re only two episodes in, and she’s already dealt with more creepy guys than anyone should ever have to. Hopefully one of the remaining contestants is a gem!
