Signature Entertainment has picked up a quartet of movies for 2019 release: Russian Submarine pic Kursk, starring Matthias Schoenaerts and Colin Firth, from Europacorp; Ethan Hawke and Noomi Rapace thriller Stockholm from Sierra Affinity; Kate Winslet and Willem Dafoe-voiced animation Manou The Swift from Sola Media; and Johnny Depp drama Richard Says Goodbye from Millenium. Signature’s 2018 releases include The Guilty, Arctic, The Spy Gone North, Benjamin and Duplicate. The firm was acquired by completion contracts company FFI earlier this year.
Dolby and Beijing-based outfit Tahoe Cinemas have inked a deal for the latter to open ten Dolby Cinema sites in China. “Our presence in China continues to grow and we are excited to partner with Tahoe Cinemas to bring the Dolby Cinema experience to more people,” said Doug Darrow, Senior Vice President, Cinema Business Group, Dolby Laboratories. Dolby has 390 cinema locations installed or committed in the U.S., Europe, and Asia. The Tahoe Group owns businesses in real estate, healthcare, education, film and finance.
