Rochelle Humes has impressed ITV bosses during her stand-in presenting role on This Morning.
The Saturdays singer, who previously hosted the show over the summer with husband Marvin Humes, has been a massive hit alongside Phillip Schofield.
Rochelle has been standing in for Holly Willoughby, who herself was covering for Ant McPartlin in the I’m A Celebrity jungle.
Holly will be taking a break over Christmas after returning from Australia and won’t be seen on screen again until Dancing On Ice begins in 2019.
Speaking to Mirror Online, Phillip revealed that Rochelle has proven herself to be a very capable presenter while warming Holly’s seat.
Explaining the reason behind the decision, Phillip told us: "By the time Holly comes back we’re almost into Christmas and I think because she’s been away for such a long time and she’s a mum she’s got her Christmas to organise as well.
"So I think it was fairly sensible to say Rochelle is doing really well, she will do up until Christmas and Holly rejoins me in the New Year."
Rochelle will step down from This Morning on Friday, with Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford taking over the reigns for the Christmas period.
Some This Morning viewers were uncertain about Rochelle when she first started but she has proven to be a firm favourite over the last few weeks.
She has impressed during interviews with Labour Leader Jeremy Corbyn and Prime Minister Theresa May.
Co-host Phillip said Rochelle had slotted into the team very well and that he loved working with another friend.
On Rochelle’s stint on This Morning, he said: "She’s done so well, she really has.
"Holly’s shoes are big shoes to fit into. Ant’s shoes are big shoes to fit into. So you’ve got two very capable broadcasters. Certainly not the easiest new job.
"Holly has done quite fantastically well in the jungle with Dec, that’s been great to watch, enjoyable and funny.
"The same with Rochelle. she’s slotted into the team at This Morning so well. She was definitely, when Holly said to me she was going to do it, then Rochelle was one of the first in my head. I thought she’d be great.
"She’d done the summer with Marvin. We’re all part of the same management company and all in the same friendship group. Everybody knows everybody. It’s nice to be working with a mate."
Phillip, who was speaking at the launch event for Huawei StorySign – a new App created to help change & enhance the lives of deaf children all around the world, also revealed he has plans to meet up with Holly.
He told us: "We are planning on going out for a drink when she gets back and has got over her jet lag. The plan is before Christmas when she comes back we go out for a drink.
"The first time we present together will actually be on Dancing On Ice.
*This Morning airs weekdays on ITV at 10.30am
