Hollyoaks and former Waterloo Road star Chelsee Healey recently announced she was expecting her second child, a brother or sister for her daughter Coco, who was born in 2017.
Now the actress, who plays Goldie McQueen in the Channel 4 soap, has revealed the gender of baby number two at a party attended by many of her Hollyoaks co-stars – and she found a suitably spectacular way of breaking the exciting news.
Chelsee got a plane to fly over her home with coloured smoke coming out of it – pink smoke. It’s a girl! And in case anyone missed the fly-past the party-goers were showered with pink confetti at the same time.
Pictures show Chelsee and Coco looking excited as they watch the plane fly overhead, and they were joined by guests including Jennifer Metcalfe (Mercedes McQueen), Ross Adams (Scott Drinkwell), Richard Blackwood (Felix Westwood) and Nadine Mulkerrin (Cleo McQueen) to celebrate the news.
Chelsee announced her second pregnancy on her Instagram last month, posting a picture of herself alongside Coco, who is beaming widely and has her hand on her mum’s baby bump.
‘I am Not Sure me Or the world Is Ready For Another Coco!’ she wrote. ‘But WE are more than Ready. For as Long as coco could talk she has asked for a Baby sister or Brother
Feel beyond blessed to be giving her her wish and being a mummy of 2 and i can’t wait to have another baba to Love unconditionally. We cannot wait to meet you Our Baby Love.’
Chelsee has raised Coco as a single mum following her split from her daughter’s dad Jack Malloy. She’s keeping the identity of her current partner private.
The actress has played Goldie McQueen on and off since 2016 and her recent storylines have included being threatened by child killer Bobby Costello (Jayden Fox).
Prior to that she became a huge favourite among Waterloo Road viewers for her role as Janeece Bryant in the original series.
When the show was relaunched at the start of 2023 Chelsee made a guest appearance as her character returned for the funeral of Chlo.
Janeece supported her friend Donte in scenes that were hugely emotional but sprinkled with Janeece’s trademark humour – and unique style.
