Police arrest man after Katie Price reported cruel blackface troll mocking disabled son Harvey in video

POLICE have arrested a man after Katie Price made a complaint about a racist video mocking her disabled son Harvey, 18, was posted online.

The man who shared the vile video of a couple, one of whom is blacked up, was arrested in a dawn raid at his home in Hastings today.

Katie, who is currently in the Maldives on holiday, spoke to officers by phone earlier today and will give a statement when she returns to the UK.

The man was quizzed over the identity of the couple in the video – and insiders say Katie is determined to take the case all the way as part of her Harvey’s Law campaign.

A distressed Katie told her fans about the video after she was sent it yesterday.

The video sees a woman playing 42-year-old Katie saying: "If someone says something horrible to Harvey, what do we say?"

Her partner, wearing face paint, responds: "Hello you c***s."

Katie wrote: "I've been sent this disgusting racist mockery p**s taking video about me and Harvey mocking his disabilities.

"Clearly planned hence the face painting! Does anybody know these disgusting humans as I will be reporting this to the police.

"Words cannot describe how upset I am, this is so cruel. These people need reporting."

The Sun is now backing Katie’s campaign to find the couple in the video – and encouraging readers to get in touch if they have any information.

A spokesperson for Sussex Police said: “A 52-year-old man from Hastings has been arrested by police investigating an offensive video posted on Twitter.

“Police were made aware of the video around 8.40pm on Wednesday (November 4).

“The man was arrested around 4.45am on Thursday (November 5) on suspicion of sending by public communication network an offensive / indecent / obscene / menacing message.

Do you know the couple in the video, or have any information that could help Katie and Harvey?

“He remains in police custody at this time.”

Katie shared the video on Instagram, writing: "I've been sent this disgusting racist mockery p**s taking video about me and Harvey mocking his disabilities.

"Clearly planned hence the face painting! Does anybody know these disgusting humans as I will be reporting this to the police.

"Words cannot describe how upset I am this is so cruel. These people need reporting."

After Katie posted about the video, fans started flagging the video to Twitter saying it needed to be taken down.

One wrote: "Reported! This is disgusting I’m not a Katie price fan but to target a young vulnerable person is just lowest of the low.

"I have a sister who is autistic and she is so beautiful and intelligent there needs to be more Harvey’s and my sister in the world and less of this vile thing."

Another tweeted: "I’ve reported it, what goes through these sick individuals minds to do something like this!

"Absolutely awful. Really upsetting to watch people mock vulnerable people. So sad. 🙁 hopefully it gets removed x."

Harvey, 18, has the rare genetic condition Prader-Willi syndrome, which can cause weight gain and behavioural problems, and is also partially blind and on the autistic spectrum.

Katie has long campaigned for 'Harvey's Law' – calling on the government to make online abuse a specific criminal offence.
