Our Yorkshire Farm's Amanda Owen sparks fear for teenage son with 'terrifying' moped pic

OUR Yorkshire Farm star Amanda Owen has sparked fear among fans with her sons "terrifying" snap of his evening commute.

The mum-of-nine took to Instagram with the photographs taken by Reuben, 17, as he made his way home to Ravenseat Farm on a moped.

Fans of the Channel 5 series will know the teenager is currently studying to become a mechanic and has an apprenticeship outside of the farm.

He commutes back and forth across the Yorkshire countryside on a moped, but one recent trip proved to be terrifying as snow and heavy fog drifted in.

Son Reuben had photographed the road ahead of him, which had almost become invisible due to the deep snow drift and thick cloud.

Amanda wrote in the caption: "Oh when the commute on your moped is frightful, but the fire is so delightful. Sit back, drink tea, take it easy. Watch #ouryorkshirefarm on TV."

She added a further two images of the fire burning in the living room, as the family dog and a collection of teddies curled up in front of it.

Amanda's 291,000 followers were quick to flood the comment section of the snap, sharing their concerns for Reuben's safety.

"Reuben needs a medal travelling in that weather," one wrote, as another encouraged him: "Oh gosh Reuben, stay safe."

"Wow shocking weather. Poor Reuben on his moped hope the others got back safely from school," a third chimed in.

"Bless him! Glad he arrived home safe and sound and can now thaw out. Hope this long winter passes soon," a fourth agreed.

The teen's pictures were shared on North Yorkshire Weather's Facebook page to warn locals of the conditions on the snowy roads.

It comes as a shock unseasonal snow storm swept across the northern parts of Britain last week as temperatures plummeted.

Amanda and husband Clive have recently returned for a fresh series of Our Yorkshire Farm, detailing how the family have coped during lockdown.

Living on one of the most remote farms in the country, the children were seen getting stuck in as a home-schooling regime ensued.

The family's nine children include Raven, 18, Reuben, 17, Miles, 14, Edith, 11, Violet, nine, Sidney, eight, Annas, six, Clemmy, five and Nancy, three.

The series began in 2018 and since then, Amanda and the family have built up a huge fanbase of people keen to know more of their unique lifestyle.

Channel 5 saw it increase in viewer numbers throughout the pandemic as they believed fans were seeking "escapism" through the farm lifestyle.

Daniel Pearl, commissioning editor at Channel 5, told The Express: “Our Yorkshire Farm is such a special programme.

"It’s more than just a heart-warming documentary, it is a deeper exploration of family bonds, parenting styles and the desire among so many of us to live closer to nature.

“The Owens are a true inspiration and I can’t wait to see what these next two years will bring.”

Our Yorkshire Farm airs on Tuesdays at 9pm on Channel 5.
