Neil Jones finally gets his big moment on Strictly after shock injury

He’s been a member of the Strictly Come Dancing pros for three years, but has never been partnered with a celebrity.

However, Neil Jones will finally get his moment in the spotlight in tonight’s final after stepping in to dance with Katie Piper after her partner Gorka Marquez was injured.

The TV presenter and campaigner, 35, and Spanish pro-dancer, 28, were voted out of the competition in Week Three back in October.

However, Gorka injured his back in November and is still recovering, so decided to bow out of partnering Katie when she returns for the final.

Over the past week, the 36-year-old redhead pro-dancer has been rehearsing with Katie ahead of their short performance on tonight’s final.

Posting a photo of herself with Neil on her Instagram, Katie wrote: "I’ve jumped ship! #newpartner @mr_njonesofficial."

It’s been a tough series for Neil after his wife and fellow Strictly pro Katya Jones was photographed kissing her partner Seann Walsh in October.

A grovelling Katya issued a public apology on Twitter, insisting "I love my husband and we are very happy together, this is not a reflection on our relationship".

Reports at the time suggested Neil had forgiven his wife, with insiders claiming it’s common for the ‘odd kiss’ to happen in dancer circles.

However, Neil was understandably furious with Seann and has kept his distance from the comedian.

During the scandal, Seann was dumped by his live-in girlfriend Rebecca Humphries after a five year relationship.

The stand-up comic has returned to Strictly this week to dance with Katya again for the final to her husband’s chagrin.

Neil was unimpressed when he heard Seann had jokingly labelled him "gay" during a recent stand-up gig.

According to show insiders, Neil made it clear to Seann he was unhappy with the comments and banned his wife from speaking to the comedian once the final is over.
