Prince Philip’s funeral is due to be held on Saturday where the Queen and members of the Royal Family will be united in grief following the Duke’s passing. Due to coronavirus restrictions, the ceremony will be limited to those closest to the Duke of Edinburgh. Prince Harry has travelled from the US to pay his respects to his grandfather however he made the trip on his own after the heavily pregnant Meghan Markle was advised against making the journey by doctors.
Speaking on Good Morning Britain, royal correspondent Omid Scobie defended the Duchess over the decision and insisted that “Meghan wanted to be here!”
He said: “Despite wanting to be here not only to be with her family.
“But to also be with Harry to support him during a very difficult time.
“Unfortunately due to a lack of medical clearance, remember she is heavily pregnant, Meghan was unable to come here.”
