Martin Lewis stuns GMB hosts with outrageously saucy Valentine’s Day tip

Martin Lewis stunned the Good Morning Britain hosts today with an outrageously saucy Valentine’s Day tip.

The Money Saving Expert, who admitted he was a romantic but wasn’t a fan of the big day, had an idea to express your love on the cheap.

Firstly he shocked the presenters by launching three bouquets of supermarket flowers across the desk.

He said: "If you haven’t got your flowers, and feel the need to do it, the supermarkets sell them super cheap. These are either £2 or £4."

Martin then came up with an interesting way to be romantic, but went a bit too far with one controversial suggestion.

Mrs Money Expert should expect to receive some "Valentine’s gift cheques" as her present.

Martin explained: "Something I prefer, especially for those people who don’t like spending money but want to be romantic.

"You can print these online. These are love cheques. Valentine’s gift cheques. They’re blank. I haven’t signed them so they’re not from me.

"You can put on here ‘I’ll give you breakfast in bed’, ‘I’ll walk the dog’."

But it was Martin’s next suggestion for a romantic offering that caused a stir.

He continued: "I’ll give you that special massage you like."

Putting on a voice, he added: "Oh no matron."

Channeling Ron Burgundy, shocked Ben Shephard said: "That escalated."

Kate Garraway added: "Went from walking the dog to something quite different."

Martin continued: "Whatever you want to put on there. What you want to give someone they like without spending any money – and they can redeem it whenever they like.

"For me that’s far more what Valentine’s Day should be about."

The financial expert also added that, if romance had worked, you could look for a getaway.

He revealed that from 25 Feb to 28 March there is a Eurostar snap service offering much cheaper tickets.

You don’t book a specific train, just choose the day and morning or afternoon, then get told your exact time 48 hours before going.
