Lucifer (played by Tom Ellis) and brother Amenadiel (DB Woodside) helped see the first half of season five go out with a bang as they went head to head with Michael (Tom Ellis) and Maze (Lesley Ann Brandt). However, just as the quartet’s brawl threatened to have deadly consequences, God (Dennis Haysbert) appeared to bring a halt to proceedings. And while God’s introduction will likely play a part in resolving the Michael versus Lucifer storyline in the Netflix series, Eve (Inbar Lavi) could return to play a major part in doing so too – here’s how.
Michael had been scheming against his brother all season long before the two locked horns in season five’s midseason finale.
From kidnapping Chloe Decker (Lauren German) to posing as Lucifer and manipulating the likes of Amenadiel and Dan Espinoza (Kevin Alejandro), Michael has been constantly getting one over on his twin.
However, his biggest feat arguably had to be getting the typically loyal Maze on his side.
Mazikeen had been growing tired of Lucifer seemingly putting Chloe and other things above her – but when she discovered the truth about her mother Lilith, she snapped.
Michael told Maze how Lucifer had kept her mother’s presence on earth a secret from her and decided to join forces with Michael to get revenge.
And heading into the second half of season five, it looks like no amount of sweet-talking from Lucifer will be able to patch things up with Maze.
However, could it be Eve who’s the one to settle the almighty dispute?
Eve hasn’t been seen since season four after taking time alone following Lucifer’s constant rejections of her advances.
Eve was besotted with the Lux owner, leaving her completely blindsided to the fact Maze harboured strong feelings for her.
Maze had fallen hard for Eve, with her absence in season five continuing to play a part in Maze’s behaviour as she desperately tried to replicate her feelings for her through a passionate Amenadiel embrace.
But with Inbar Lavi’s return as Eve confirmed for the second half of season five, she could cross paths with Maze once more.
And given just how strongly Maze feels for her, Eve could be the one who manages to convince her what to do next.

If Eve still held Lucifer close to her heart, the Devil could easily exploit her into manipulating Maze.
And as a result, Eve could subsequently use Maze’s feelings to her advantage, convincing her Michael is bad news.
While God will try and keep a lid on things, if Eve returns and manages to take advantage of Maze’s feelings for her and side with Lucifer, Michael would be faced with an almighty battle.
Michael would have the formidable trio of Lucifer, Amenadiel and Maze to contend with.
And if those three got their hands on Michael, it looks like the only outcome would be a return to the Silver City or even Hell.
Or spotting the threat to Michael, God could step in to protect his son and decide it was Michael’s time to leave earth.
Fans will have to wait until Lucifer season five returns to find out exactly what lies ahead for Michael for sure.
But with a sixth and final season penned in for release, it looks unlikely he’ll be able to overcome his twin brother before season five is up.
Lucifer is available to stream on Netflix now.
