Lucifer: Dr. Linda Martin discusses her past relationship with him
Dr. Linda Martin used to exchange therapy for time alone with hunky nightclub owner Lucifer Morningstar in Fox’s first instalments of the steamy fantasy drama. Although her practice has since become far more ethical, as the series continues on Netflix some fans have been questioning how the devil’s sexy shrink managed to keep her licence.

Lucifer fans are still unsure how Dr. Linda Martin (played by Rachael Harris) was able to keep her therapists’ licence after some tinkering in the second season.
Although her methods are far more professional these days, Linda used to trade her sage advice for sex during her sessions with the troubled devil, Lucifer Morningstar (Tom Ellis).
Her methods came under fire from the Board of Review in a key storyline from season two, raising alarms that she could be about to lose her career.
However, Linda managed to keep her office thanks to some behind-the-scenes tinkering from her demonic friend, Mazikeen (Lesley-Ann Brandt).

While fans have inferred all sorts of explanations from the fiery bounty hunter’s methods of persuasion, it still hasn’t been confirmed just how Maze managed to convince the board to sweep the incident under the rug.
One confused viewer recently put the question to Reddit, exposing a glaring plot hole from Lucifer’s second season that still hasn’t been resolved.
Redditor MazakeenSmith posted: “In this episode, Linda gets in trouble with the ethics review board for shenanigans in the last episode. Lucifer and Maze try to fix it but make things worse.
“Then Maze tells Linda she’s going to fix it and goes and sees the review board guy again. Question is: how does she fix it?”
Initially airing weekly on Fox, the show’s second and third seasons were far longer than Netflix’s current slate.
This has provided ample Lucifer content for fans who are still stuck waiting for the second half of season five to make its highly anticipated return.
On the other hand, re-watching old favourites has unveiled some of the show’s earlier narrative pitfalls for fans who are used to Lucifer’s current high standards of writing.
Many viewers have assumed the promiscuous demon took a page out of Linda’s book to help her keep her job, although Maze has proven she’s not above resorting to more violent methods.

The same fan added: “Either torture or sex I guess? I’m just surprised we never found out what she did to fix it.”
While another fan joked: “Knowing Maze, it was both … at the same time.”
This comment raised an appropriate point that sometimes the audience’s imagination is often far better than what could have been an unnecessary scene.
One more fan remarked: “Did we really have to [know]? I think it’s been pretty clear throughout the series that persuasion is Maze’s special power.”
They also referenced a particularly dark moment from the latest season, in which she tortured the fake Whisper Killer Les Klumpsky (David Figlioli) out of a confession.
They recalled: “Remember Lucifer asking her if she’s sure she got all the information out of Klumpsky, the supposed Whisper Killer?
“‘Three broken ribs, a torn rotator cuff, and It’s a Small World on repeat? Yeah, I’m sure.’”
Once again, fans prove that, when it comes to Mazikeen, it’s often better not to ask.
