Love Island stars struck down with ‘mystery illness’ but bosses cut out scenes

Love Island contestants have all been suffering from a mystery illness but bosses have decided to edit stout from the show.

Former Islander Ollie Williams, who left the famous villa after three days, has revealed that he and the other stars on the show were all hit by a mystery stomach bug.

Ollie, 23, believes that the stomach illness could have been spread by the South African water.

Speaking to The Sun, the land owner said: ""We all got norovirus, I definitely had a bad tummy, all the boys got it too.

"I had to a mad dash to the toilets one night. I don’t know if it was the food, you obviously drink loads of water in there so it could have been that.

"It was over pretty quickly, but it was pretty ropey for a while.

"I think some of the girls may have got it too as I saw them running to the loos, but they weren't as obvious as the lads."

Producers of the ITV2 dating show spared viewers the gruesome scenes with fans oblivious to the illness.

Norovirus is a unpleasant stomach bug, with symptoms including projectile vomiting, and there is no cure for the condition.

However, the illness usually passes after a few days.

It comes after reports that crew were forced to be put in quarantine following the news of the violent bug, which can be spread by kissing.

Ollie left the villa early after realising he still had feelings for his ex girlfriend.

Ollie told the publication: "I now realise that Laura is the girl I want to marry. I'm so grateful she has taken me back. We're going to move in together in London over the next few months. I can't wait to start a life with her."
