Love Island star Dami Hope left viewers at home in stitches during Wednesday 27 July night’s episode of the popular ITV dating show as he made some interesting name suggestions during the baby challenge.
The highly anticipated challenge, that came hot on the heels of another dumping, saw the remaining couples tasked with taking care of a fake baby for the day as they road tested their aptitude as potential parents.
Within minutes of being presented with their ‘children’ the couples immediately turned their attention towards selecting the perfect names for their little ones.
While several of the couples already had names in mind, it was Dami’s suggestions that left many viewers at home tickled pink, as he suggested the names of a former bombshell, Coco.
Kicking things off, Dami suggested the names Ronke and Funke, two strong Yoruba names, however Indiyah didn’t appear to be a fan as she quickly laughed them off.
Dami then turned his attention to more familiar names, as he suggested calling their baby Coco, to which Indiyah replied: “Why are you just naming her after the bombshells?”
"No I'm not!" protested Dami.
The couple eventually decided to name their baby Sienna, and immediately got stuck into their unexpected roles as parents as Dami quipped: “Sienna Funke Hope.”
Fans at home were quick to react on social media, with many expressing their amusement at Dami’s name choices.
“Dami is absolutely not serious with these names I can’t,” laughed one fan.
While another commented: “I’m actually cracking up at Dami brainstorming names for the baby.”
“I can't lie Dami giving the baby Yoruba names is crackin me up! FUNKE!!” added another.
Before a fourth chimed in with: “Lmao Dami naming their baby as bombshells names. This guy.”
Another fan also praised Dami’s fellow dads as they commented: “Davides baby looks like Davide! I’m here for the sensitive papas, Andrew’s actually pulling on my heart strings, Dami is making me howl. Here for the traditional names”.
Names were just one aspect of the challenge, the Islanders were also expected to feed, change and socialise with the realistic looking dolls.
While some parents, including Dami, struggled a little, some of the Islanders unexpectedly excelled, including Davide Sanclimenti, who happily embraced his new role as a doting dad.
In adorable scenes, the Italian contestant shared his baby duties with partner Ekin-Su as he took their baby everywhere, including to the gym to get his daily exercise in.
Updating Ekin-Su on his day with the little one, after she and the other girls had been given a night out, Davide told her: “It’s going well, she just ate, we’ll do some activities later today. We’ll do some gym squats later with the baby.”
Love Island continues every night at 9pm on ITV2.
