Love Island fans go wild for ITV2 show’s ‘savage’ text twist to boys during baby challenge

Love Island viewers were sent into a frenzy on Wednesday night following producers’ brutal text to the boys.

After the Islanders were dumped with their babies, the boys went on to receive a text that they were getting a day out.

Thinking they were spending the afternoon child-free, the lads went wild and started jumping around for Ron Hall to get another text informing them that they had to take the babies with them.

Screaming in dismay, Ron shared the news with his fellow Islanders.

Speaking about the “savage” U-turn for the boys, Love Island viewers took to Twitter to share their thoughts.

“That was the best second text to the boys,” penned one fan, followed by a string of laughing-face emojis.

“How is the best part of this ep when the producers fooled the boys and Ron screamed at the text???” wrote another, as a third labelled it as “savage”.

“whoever sent those texts you need a promotion,” someone else quipped.

Agreeing, a fellow Love Island viewer added: “whoever came up with the double text deserves a pay rise”.

Noting Ron’s comical scream, another wrote: “Ron’s scream “NoOOO” to the second text is SENDING ME LMAOO”.

While fans were undeniably amused by the texts, one thing they were less entertained by was the babies constant crying – sparking some to mute their TVs.

One person tweeted as the babies made their highly anticipated return: “I need to mute this episode of #loveisland. the crying babies are sooooo annoying”.

“All mums will be watching this episode on mute #loveisland,” joked another fan.

A third added: “I always mute this episode #loveisland."

Echoing similar sentiments, another fan went on: “I HATE HATE HATE the baby challenge so much. I just can’t cope with the artificial crying. I might have to watch this ep on mute with subtitles”.

The return of the show’s highly anticipated baby challenge comes just days before the Love Island final that’s set to take place on Monday, 13 March.

Well-loved host Maya Jama confirmed the date last week.

Maya said of the final: "It's going to be major. You don't want to miss it."

Love Island continues each night at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
