Love Island: Amy Hart QUITS show following split from Curtis Pritchard

Amy Hart has quit Love Island following a dramatic week which saw her dumped by 'half-boyfriend' Curtis Pritchard, a source has confirmed to OK! online.

An insider close to the show confirmed that Amy has left the villa and her exit will be shown on Tuesday night’s show.

A source close to Amy told The Sun Online: “It was Amy's decision to walk from the villa as she felt she had gotten as much as she could from the experience.

“She fell in love, had her heart broken and couldn't stand the thought of seeing Curtis crack on with other girls while under the same roof as her.

“She was given therapy and support from the producers at ITV and they felt she was emotionally sound enough to make her own decision. They would never dream of keeping someone in there if they weren't happy about it.”

Amy’s shock exit from the show comes just days after she left the villa to seek psychological help following her bitter split from ballroom dancer Curtis.

A show source said at the time of Amy’s decision to seek help: “We take the emotional well-being of all the Islanders extremely seriously.

“We have dedicated welfare producers and psychological support on hand at all times who monitor and regularly speak to all of the Islanders in private and off camera, especially if someone appears to be upset.

“All the Islanders are therefore fully supported by the professionals on site and by their friends in the villa.”

Viewers will watch on Monday night’s show how Amy is left furious after Maura Higgins tells her how she hopes to pursue a relationship with Curtis.

Taking her to one side, Maura finally decides to tell Amy: “From day one, I said that he [Curtis] would have been one of the guys I would have gone for.

“I do fancy him. I’m an honest person, I can’t hold back, so I did tell him that I liked him.”

Amy responds: “But not honest enough to come and tell me first that you were going to do it?”

Maura adds: “When I came in here, I felt that out of all the girls here, you were the one that wouldn’t let me in.”

Amy hits back: “A lot of stuff makes sense to me now. You were one of the most vocal that he didn’t deserve a second chance.”

Maura says: “If you honestly think that I’ve done that to swoop in, you’re very wrong.”

Love Island continues nightly at 9pm on ITV2.
