Little Mix's Perrie Edwards shares adorable new pic of son Axel five weeks after giving birth

LITTLE Mix star Perrie Edwards has shared an adorable new pic of her baby son Axel five weeks after giving birth.

The singer, who welcomed her first child with Liverpool player Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain last month, posted the adorable snap to Instagram.

Perrie, 28, posted the sweet snap Axel, who appeared to be peacefully sleeping with his hand gently resting above his head.

The doting mum simply captioned the post to her Instagram stories with a GIF of a heart, cropping the photo to cut out his face.

Perrie kept her baby son's name a secret for two weeks before taking to social media to finally share they had called him Axel.

She broke the news alongside two adorable snaps of the newborn, which saw him wrapped up in a white blanket in a basket.

Perrie wrote to her following: "Two weeks of loving you. I’ve never felt love like this before!"

The name Axel is an anagram of his footballing father Alex – and fans immediately fell in love with the sweet moniker.

Perrie shared the news their baby had been born last month alongside a series of adorable black and white snaps, showing their child's tiny limbs.

Fans had been alerted to the fact Perrie was in labour when footballer Alex didn’t play for Liverpool, citing “personal reasons”.

Perrie stunned Little Mix fans when she revealed she was pregnant in May, announcing the news on Instagram with a close-up picture of her bump.

Her pregnancy came at the same time as bandmate Leigh-Anne Pinnock, who welcomed twins with her fiance Andre Gray last month.

Leigh-Anne took to Instagram at the start of May to announce she was expecting her first child.

The singer wore a flowing green dress to show off her baby bump and was joined by a topless Andre in the intimate photoshoot.

Leigh-Anne told fans on the social media site: "We've dreamed about this moment for so long and we can't believe the dream is finally coming true, we can't wait to meet you."

Meanwhile, third band-member Jade Thirwall shared her pride for her bandmates and admitted she "can't wait to be an auntie".

Jade was feeling anything but left out as she gushed about the new mums – saying that her "heart was bursting" for both the women.

Jade's enthusiasm is a stark contrast to Little Mix's former bandmate Jesy Nelson, who SNUBBED both announcements on social media after admitting they no longer speak.

Jesy quit the girl group in December after nine years due to the "emotional toll" being in the limelight had taken, with the other three girls previously supporting her through her mental health battle.
