Kristina Rihanoff defends Stacey Dooley's Strictly romance with Kevin Clifton saying someone's 'bound to get hurt' as couples get together 'at work'

FORMER Strictly star Kristina Rihanoff has defended Stacey Dooley's romance with Kevin Clifton saying someone's bound to get hurt because couples get together "at work".

The 41-year-old has twice found love on the dance floor despite both men being in relationships when they signed up for the show.

Strictly winner Stacey split from her boyfriend of five years Sam Tucknott after falling for her professional dance partner.

Acknowledging that Stacey grew feelings for Kevin while working together on the BBC show, Kristina said: "That's what's difficult.

"There's always going to be someone who gets hurt and someone thinking it's wrong."
Adding about the closeness between partners on the show, Kristina said: "It's about creating a strong bond and trusting each other.

"You have to feel like a team or you can't go on. It's a very intense show emotionally and physically.
"You have a very big task in front of you and pressure to deal with."

Kristina gained the reputation for being a man-eater after romancing pro dancer Vincent Simone, Joe Calzaghe and Ben Cohen while they were with other women.

But after meeting married ex-rugby player Ben on the show back in 2013, the pair are still in a happy relationship and now share a daughter called Milena.

Kristina left Strictly in 2015, but didn't rule out a possible return to replace Darcey Bussell as a judge.

She added: "Of course I would love to be a judge. But I don’t see myself in that role yet. I love doing choreography and creative stuff.

"I think the panel needs another woman and someone from a different background to ballroom dancing, someone from street dancing or a commercial dancing background, who is also a professional dancer and perhaps a judge."
