In case you passed out mid-way through the three hour finale of Bachelor in Paradise, Joe Amabile proposed to Serena Pitt and they’re still very much together! But the moment was slightly awkward due to Joe’s ex Kendall Long showing up on the beach literally seconds before he was going to propose. Despite the timing being all kinds of weird (the devil works hard, but producers work harder), Kendall was basically there to wish Joe well and get closure.
Kendall ended up responding to the episode—which ended in Joe’s romantic proposal to Serena—on Instagram with a metaphor about takeout, saying “Life’s difficult moments are a lot like takeout food… It’s always better the next day. My closest friends and family know me as the one to laugh it off. Sometimes we drop the food and instead of collapsing in the street, paralyzed by what could have tasted so sweet, I break a smile and think…there will always be another cake 🍰”

FYI, a big issue in Joe and Kendall’s relationship was the fact that she didn’t want to move to Chicago, so E! News went ahead and asked Joe and Serena what their plans are.
“We’re on the same page about where we want to live, how we want to do it,” Joe explained. “Right now we’re going back and forth from Chicago and Toronto, and then we plan on moving in together in the spring. That will either be Chicago, Toronto, or potentially New York. But we will be on the East Coast.” He added that “Everything’s like an hour away, which makes it a lot easier,” while Serena said “It keeps us close to our families but gives a couple options to be flexible, depending what works best at the time.”
