Jeremy Kyle has announced his return to prime time TV with a brand new talk show.

Speaking on new channel Talk TV the host made his announcement as he admitted feeling really "excited" about the new programme.

The former Jeremy Kyle Show presenter admitted he had been waiting for three years to get back to TV hosting and couldn't wait to get started in the coming weeks.

He said: "I’m really excited and delighted to announce I’m going to be hosting a brand new primetime show here on TalkTV.

"It’s about common sense and how the news is given to people."

He continued: "I’ve spent a lot of time the last three years wishing and hoping."

Jeremy, 56, will join big-name hosts Piers Morgan, Vanessa Feltz and Sharon Osbourne in fronting the new channel after a long break from appearing on TV screens when a guest on The Jeremy Kyle Show committed suicide after failing a lie detector test.

He made his debut appearance on Talk TV's The Talk on Monday alongside Sharon Osbourne and panellists Esther Krakue, Tonia Buxton, and JJ Anisiobi.

Jeremy recently faced a backlash after a Channel 4 documentary Death On Daytime highlighted what went on backstage during the 14-year run of The Jeremy Kyle Show.

The TalkRadio presenter addressed the allegations made by the show on his Drive Time show after it aired.

He said: "I will say only this, my friends, to you. I have maintained a consistent approach over the last three years.

"I have said that I will not comment on the tragic death of Steve Dymond until the legal process is finished, and that is a position that I will maintain.

"When and trust me there will be a time after the inquest, when it is proper for me to have my say, because there are two sides to every story. I will do it here, and I will do it to you, and that is the most important thing."

The inquest was adjourned late last month (March 28) when Mr Dymond's family suffered a bereavement and will now be held at a later date.

Anyone feeling emotionally distressed or suicidal can call Samaritans for help on 116 123 or email [email protected] in the UK.

The Talk airs weekdays at 9pm on Talk TV.
