The former rugby player appeared on Thursday’s Jeremy Vine to chat about his podcast with Mike Tindall and their upcoming tour as well as adapting to parenthood. However, James went on to admit he was terrified of being left with his newborn daughter while his wife Chloe Madeley had a night out with friends.

“I am with the baby tonight and it’s my first night alone while Chloe is going out,” James began.

Explaining further, he said: “I’ve looked after her, but this is the first night just me and her so that’s gonna be terrifying so I don’t think I’ll be watching anything other than her.”

“Still breathing? Still breathing?” the rugby star joked as he shared his concerns.

“Chloe is going to be out and it’s going to be a massive moment.

“I do the night feeds and take her in the morning, that is fine, she (Chloe) is not in the house.

“I can’t go, ‘Babe, I don’t know what is happening here’… you know.”

Jeremy chipped in: “A friend of mine… a woman friend was rung by her husband, who said, ‘She just won’t stop crying, I don’t know what to do’.

“You can’t call Chloe,” the host warned as James insisted: “I won’t. I would never do that.”

“Not under any circumstances,” Jeremy added.

James told him: “I will never give in to the enemy, I will never let it.”

He went on to share: “If I’m away from DJing and I’m having too much fun, Chloe will call me up to remind me what am I missing and how bad it is at home.”

James’ wife Chloe is the wife of Good Morning Britain presenter, Richard Madeley.

In a recent interview on The One Show, James joked Chloe will “divorce” him because of his busy work schedule.

“I’m slightly concerned by the time we come to that tour I may or may not be divorced by then,” he said when chatting to Alex Jones about his and Mike’s podcast tour.

“I’m not allowed to say the name because a very panicked researcher said, ‘Remember it’s the BBC, do not mention it’. But you can look it up.

“I’ve got that, then I’m DJ-ing in Ibiza for 15 dates, then we got the World Cup and we got a 17-date tour with Good, Bad, Rugby.”

“So my wife…” he continued as Alex chipped in: “So you’re single.”

“I’m single, I’m done,” James joked.

Jeremy Vine on 5 airs weekdays at 9.15am on Channel 5.
