Keir Starmer insisted Tony Blair “deserves the honour” of a knighthood despite over 500,000 people demanding he his stripped of the title. The former Labour Prime Minister was included in the Queen’s New Year’s honours list, sparking widespread criticism from the families of Iraq veterans as well as everyday Britons. Probed on whether the honour should be rescinded, Sir Keir told Susanna Reid the issue was “not thorny” as he discussed Blair’s achievements as leader of the UK.
