I’m A Celeb star exposes Joe Swash’s ‘tactics’ he uses to ‘get more airtime’

I’m A Celebrity icon Nicola McLean revealed Joe Swash's "tactics" he has put in play to get more air time.

His 2008 co-star shared her opinions on the show as this year's I'm A Celeb columnist for the Daily Star.

Last week, team leader Joe had to choose his teammates in a selection process which left Janice Dickinson and Helen Flanagan as the last stars to be picked.

Joe ended up choosing Janice, which Nicola said was a "tactical" decision.

Nicola explained: “I don't think that the selection process was fair as the person left last will feel like s**t.

"A lot of people gave Joe stick but I don't think he did anything wrong, that picking selection was hardcore.

“But picking Janice was tactical wasn't it, not to win but to have a bit of airtime, to say 'I'm scared of Janice'.

"Joe's image may be dumb but he's far from it. It's part of a good storyline.”

She also claimed that Joe could've won his first series due to "clever editing" on the show.

Sharing her thoughts, Nicola said: “I think it's clever editing, I think they can edit anybody to win, who gets the most airtime, positive airtime, that's the person who is going to win.

“Yes the viewers vote, but the viewers only vote for what they can see and are led by. I definitely feel like these shows are edited in favour of whoever the producers want to win.”

The former Page 3 star also touched upon Paul Burrell's annoyance with Joe, as he spoke out against him to Fatima Whitbread last week as he claimed she was the "real leader".

Nicola stated: “It's probably like annoying, when newcomers come in it's never great, even if you've been in the camp for a day longer than someone, 24 hours in there feels like a really long time.

“And for Joe to come in and take over, and clearly that's what Paul feels like he's doing and I thought that was quite telling. He doesn't see Joe as a leader, he sees Fatima as it, so I think he was just being honest.”
