I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! fans were treated to the first major surprise of the new series tonight (Monday 24 April), as Gillian McKeith, one of the most notorious stars to take part in the series, was a late arrival.
But while the addition of the You Are What You Eat star was already shocking enough in itself, there was more to come, given Happy Mondays singer Shaun Ryder, 60, is also taking part in this year's All Stars series.
Shaun and Gillian, 63, had an incredibly frosty time living together during their time in the jungle, and it made for some drama in the camp, as the former admitted he "nearly killed her".
As presenters Ant and Dec teased the "first surprise was on its way," jungle staff wheeled in a mysterious-looking box.
Out jumped Gillian, and it was clear to see that Shaun was less than impressed.
As his face dropped, and an "oh," popped out, the trailer for the next instalment showed that there could be fireworks in the jungle once more.
The rest of the campmates quizzed Shaun and Gillian over what went down during their year together on the show, and Shaun didn't mince his words when he admitted it was a struggle to live with the TV presenter.
It comes as Shaun has even publicly criticised Gillian in his autobiography, saying "it was only Gillian McKeith who was a bit of a d**k" in the jungle", and adding "she just had no manners".
The duo also had a blazing row during a freezing cold water trial. "You're a f****** irritating woman," Shaun said angrily, as Gillian fired back: "You say the nasty things all the time… your tone, everything. The way you speak to everyone."
While fans will have to wait and see whether the pair's beef has been squashed after more than 12 years, hosts Ant and Dec warned campmates that it was only the first of many unexpected twists and turns.
""This time around there is no king or queen of the jungle," they announced to the group. "Instead one of you, will become the first ever I'm A Celeb legend. You'll compete against each other to win food, treats, and for the right to remain in the camp.
"Long story short, expect the unexpected," the duo teased, as they watched the arrival of Gillian through some hidden wooden slats in the camp walls.
The launch instalment came after weeks of speculation over what the brand new series would entail.
The returning stars were split into groups and sent on their first hair-raising tasks as they got used to life on the show once more.
Carol Vorderman, Jordan Banjo and Amir Khan were all given the task of plunging off the side of a cliff, as they had to then memorise a code for their first dinner in the jungle.
Following that, the late Princess Diana's former butler Paul Burrell struggled with a task as he, Janice Dickinson and Shaun Ryder all paddled on a raft down a South African river.
Faced with getting his own star for dinner by moving past snakes in a box, the former butler began screaming and shouting in fear.
Janice was faced with having to calm her new campmate down, as she angrily told Shaun to "stop laughing".
