Paul Foreman’s (Peter Ash) world turns upside down this week in Coronation Street as he’s given the news that he may have motor neurone disease, which will turn out to be a correct diagnosis.
The character has been experiencing problems with his hand after being involved in a collision a few weeks ago.
Initially, people thought that Paul’s hand was just taking longer to heal after the accident, but a meeting with a neurologist on Wednesday will see Paul discover the possible truth.
Back in the flat, reeling from the news, Paul sits in silent tears staring at his withered hand, the reality of what lies ahead hitting him hard.
Perhaps in an attempt to distract himself, Paul is keen to earn some money at the end of the week in order to repay Billy (Daniel Brocklebank) and help Gemma (Dolly-Rose Campbell) with the wedding.
In the bistro, as Nick (Ben Price) watches Damon (Ciaran Griffiths) and Adam (Sam Robertson) have lunch, he explains to Paul that he’s Harvey’s (Will Mellor) brother and is seriously bad news.
Literally ignoring everything Nick just said, Paul approaches Damon in the street and reveals that he doesn’t have long left to live and needs to earn some cash, ASAP.
Damon hands Paul the details of a bloke called Kyle who is looking for a driver as part of an insurance scam.
So, will Paul break the law in order to raise some money for his family?
