Homes Under The Hammer presenter Martell Maxwell age: How old is Martel Maxwell?

Homes Under the Hammer airs on weekdays at 10am on BBC One, with presenter Martell Maxwell joining Martin Roberts and Dion Dublin. BBC One viewers have been left wondering how old Martell Maxwell is due to her ageless appearance. Martell Maxwell is a journalist and presenter who has worked on Lorraine and The One Show.

How old is Martell Maxwell?

Homes Under the Hammer presenter Martell Maxwell is around 42 years old as of April 2019.

According to an interview in the Dundee Evening Telegraph, Maxwell was 40 years old in June 2017 when the profile was written.

The presenter has worked as a journalist since the 1990s and has three children.

Prior to presenting Homes Under the Hammer, Maxwell made a name for herself as a showbiz reporter for newspapers like The Sun and TV programmes like Lorraine.

As a reporter, she interviewed everyone from Brad Pitt to the stars of Broadchurch.

However, in an interview with The Sun in 2016 she said that one interview was particularly memorable.

She said: “The one that got away was Robbie Williams.

“He said he’d have gone out with me if I wasn’t a reporter.”

In 2017, however, she replaced Lucy Alexander as a presenter of Homes Under the Hammer.

She told the Dundee Evening Telegraph of this new role: “The average call time for filming at the first house is 10am, which feels like a lie-in considering my kids are up at 5.15am every day.

“The schedule involves giving first impressions of the home, six pieces to camera walking down the street or inside and interviews with whoever has purchased the property.

“That’s the bit I find really interesting as that’s when you get to hear the stories behind the purchase, some of which are incredibly heartwarming.”

She also revealed more secrets about the popular property show.

She added: “We film at two properties every day up to three times a week.

“There are no hair and make-up artists on set as many people like to think.

“It’s a case of grabbing a quick sandwich from Tesco and going on to the next location — we call it the glamour of the hammer!”
